The remote control that came with the 12V mobile DIRECTV receiver does not operate other audio/video components in my vehicle or vessel.

There are a number of common issues that may explain why your remote control does not operate the other component.

Proper component button not pressed
To operate the satellite TV system using the remote control, first press the remote controls SAT button. The remote control will not operate the receiver unless the SAT button is active. To operate a component other than the satellite receiver, first press the corresponding component button on the remote control. For example, to operate the TV monitor using the remote control, first press the TV button.

Remote control not programmed
If you are unable to operate a component with the remote control, first ensure that the associated component button (DVD,VCR,AUX, or TV) is selected on the remote control. If the correct button is selected, you need to program the remote control to operate the component. Refer to the "Programming the Remote Control to Operate Other Components" section of your TracVision User's Guide for complete details on this process.

How do I activate satellite service for my TracVision M1 or M3ST?

Activating and using your TracVision M1 or M3ST satellite TV system works in much the same way as your home satellite TV service. First, you must have your 12V mobile DIRECTV receiver/controller activated. KVH can provide this service at no cost to you.

Have your antenna and receiver serial numbers ready when you contact KVH's Satellite Airtime and Product Activation Department via e-mail at satelliteservices@kvh.com or by phone at (888) 584-4163 or +1 (401) 847-3327. You then choose your selected DIRECTV programming package and contact DIRECTV with your billing information.

Can I purchase an empty TracVision dome to balance the installation on my boat?

Empty domes are available should you wish to have a matching dome installation on your boat. Also, KVH's TracPhone domes are identical to their TracVision counterparts, enabling you to have a balanced, dual-dome installation that offers satellite TV and satellite communications. Do I need more than one TracVision antenna if I have multiple screens/TVs on my vehicle or boat?

No. All TracVision antennas can support multiple video screens and multiple receivers so each TV screen can show a different channel.

Do I need to configure the TracVision M1 or M3ST before I can use it to watch DIRECTV programming?

Absolutely not! It couldn't be easier. Simply install the TracVision M1 or M3ST antenna and the deluxe 12V DIRECTV receiver, connect it to your television, and activate your DIRECTV service. Then just turn it on, use the remote to change the channels, and sit back and enjoy.
