FAQ

The remote control that came with the 12V mobile DIRECTV receiver does not operate other audio/video components in my vehicle or vessel.

There are a number of common issues that may explain why your remote control does not operate the other component.

Proper component button not pressed
To operate the satellite TV system using the remote control, first press the remote controls SAT button. The remote control will not operate the receiver unless the SAT button is active. To operate a component other than the satellite receiver, first press the corresponding component button on the remote control. For example, to operate the TV monitor using the remote control, first press the TV button.

Remote control not programmed
If you are unable to operate a component with the remote control, first ensure that the associated component button (DVD,VCR,AUX, or TV) is selected on the remote control. If the correct button is selected, you need to program the remote control to operate the component. Refer to the "Programming the Remote Control to Operate Other Components" section of your TracVision User's Guide for complete details on this process.

Are there any driving limitations when I have TracVision A7 installed on my vehicle?

TracVision was designed specifically for automotive installation and the rigors of automotive and RV driving. It is not recommended for off-road vehicles or tractor trailers.

KVH strenuously urges you to use TracVision and all onboard entertainment systems safely and responsibly. It is illegal and highly unsafe for a video screen to be mounted in such as position that the driver can watch TV. As with any onboard electronics or products, please be sure that the driver pays attention to the road and gets you to and from your destination safely.

Does the TracVision A7 work in Europe or other regions around the world?

No. At this time, KVH's low-profile automotive TracVision systems are designed to work only within the continental United States.

Can I use my TracVision A7 antenna if I travel into Canada?

No. At this time, TracVision A7 is designed to work only within the continental United States.

Can I watch satellite TV while we are driving through the city?

Like all satellite TV systems, TracVision antennas require a clear view of the Southern sky to see and track the satellite. In a city, the various buildings and other structures will block the view to the satellite as you travel, resulting in intermittent or no satellite signal. Depending on your location in the continental United States, the satellite will be lower in the sky as you head further North, higher as you head South.
