TracVision HD7

TracVision HD7

This is satellite TV at sea that works as hard as you do – KVH’s new 24" TracVision® HD7 is a breakthrough in maritime satellite TV design, bringing high-definition programming from DIRECTV® to your crew to keep them up to date on news, weather, and other important broadcasts. The rugged TracVision HD7 tracks DIRECTV’s Ka- and Ku-band satellites, enables use of Digital Video Recorders (DVRs), and offers the best tracking ever from KVH, so mission-critical information is always right at your fingertips.

An inspired development in compact antenna design, the TracVision HD7 antenna simultaneously receives broadcasts from three DIRECTV satellites. These signals are concentrated by the tuned subreflector before reaching KVH’s unique tri-rod dielectric feed, resulting in outstanding reception, even as your vessels travel offshore. (In fact, with KVH’s optional Tri-Americas™ LNB for the TracVision HD7, you can travel among ports throughout the Americas without losing satellite TV reception.) This makes it possible for crew throughout the ship to watch any channel they need without fear of satellite switching. It also offers full DVR support so now everyone can watch what they want on whatever TV they want, whenever they want, and stay up-to-date 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Plus, setup and maintenance are a snap with KVH’s new IP-enabled antenna control unit and TracVision iPhone® app.

The TracVision HD7 is controlled by the Export Administration Act of 1979, as amended (Title 50, USC App 2401 et seq.) and its implementing regulations, the Export Administration Regulations, 15 CFR 730 et seq. Diversion contrary to U.S. law is prohibited.

Empty domes are available should you wish to have a matching dome installation on your boat. Also, KVH's TracPhone domes are identical to their TracVision counterparts, enabling you to have a balanced, dual-dome installation that offers satellite TV and satellite communications. Click here to find a KVH dealer near you for information and pricing.
A:

Absolutely. With the addition of the dedicated Crew Calling Gateway, you equip your mini-VSAT Broadband system with a separate telephone line exclusively for crew and passenger use. Passengers and your crew will be able to place calls anywhere in the world using the Crew Calling phone while crew usage is tracked separately from your standard usage for easy service management and tracking.

Offering access to this service is simple:

  • Purchase $25 or $100 mini-VSAT Broadband Crew Calling cards for resale, or
  • Minimize your administrative needs and allow the crew or your charter guests to use the crew calling phone to buy minutes directly from KVH Industries using their credit card.

Visit the crew calling page for complete details.

A:
No. All TracVision antennas can support multiple video screens and multiple receivers so each TV screen can show a different channel.
A:
Yes, a single TracVision antenna can support multiple video screens. As with satellite TV in your house, if you have a single receiver, all of the TV screens will show the same programming. However, if you install multiple receivers, each video screen can watch a different channel simultaneously. All TracVision antennas support both configurations, however, some models require additional hardware.

Exclusive Technology

TriAD Technology 1
KVH’s revolutionary TriAD technology – a breakthrough in compact antenna design – simultaneously receives broadcasts from three separate satellites. These signals are concentrated by the sculpted reflector and tuned subreflector before reaching the unique tri-rod dielectric feed. And when you’re underway, the multi-axis dynamic tracking stays locked on even in the roughest seas.

This means every TV on board can be tuned to any channel on any of the three satellites, with no waiting for satellite switching or blank screens. Plus, your receivers won’t lock up, reboot, or perform lengthy satellite searches unexpectedly due to expired program guides or receivers looking for the wrong satellite because, unlike other systems, the advanced TracVision HD7 receives DIRECTV’s program data constantly and sees all three satellites all of the time!
