Simple, One-button System Enables Convenient Satellite Switching Ideal for Use with DISH 500 Service and KVH High-speed Internet
MIDDLETOWN, RI - November 12, 2001 - With a wider variety of satellite services offering programming on multiple satellites and the recent launch of KVH Industries' (Nasdaq: KVHI) mobile, high-speed Internet service, mobile satellite television antennas must have the ability to switch easily from one satellite to another. KVH Industries, which pioneered the use of integrated Digital Video Broadcasting (DVB) technology on its TracVision mobile satellite antennas, now announces the availability of the TracVision® TV/SAT Switch, a one-button solution for selecting between two different satellites.
"Indicative of its leadership in the industry, KVH was the first manufacturer to offer an in-motion antenna system with a preprogrammed satellite library and the ability to shift from one satellite to another," commented Ian Palmer, vice president of satellite sales. "Now, the introduction of the TracVision TV/SAT Switch will make it even easier for TracVision owners to take advantage of their antenna's capabilities and receive their favorite satellite TV programming or KVH’s exclusive, high-speed mobile Internet service."
The TV/SAT Switch is an easy-to-use accessory that allows users to select between two satellites without the need for a laptop computer. Ideal for customers of service providers that offer programming on multiple satellites, such as the DISH Network™ and its new DISH 500 service, the switch works with any DVB-compatible TracVision antenna that is not already equipped with a user interface, such as the TracVision L3, C3, 4, and 6. The switch connects to the antenna’s maintenance port and a single press of the button will automatically shift the antenna to track the chosen satellite.
