Implements Enhanced Quality Management System for Product Design, Manufacture, and Support
MIDDLETOWN, RI – May 19, 2003 – Reaffirming its commitment to world-class quality, KVH Industries (Nasdaq: KVHI) announced today that its quality management system has received certification to the ISO 9001:2000 quality standard from KVH’s registrar, BSI Management Systems. Originally certified under the ISO 9001:1994 standard in June 1999, KVH completed this process more than eight months before the deadline for implementation of the new, more stringent ISO 9001:2000 standard. KVH is applying its quality system to the design, manufacture, and support of its satellite communications, navigation, and fiber optic products.
“We pursued certification because quality, the number one goal of KVH’s Engineering and Manufacturing teams, is achieved in every product that we build through a combination of design and process management,” said KVH Chief Operating Officer Joe Bookataub.
“ISO 9001:2000 is the most efficient tool available to achieve that goal. In addition, it is a valuable global quality management standard. As such, it helps facilitate international business relationships and is the most efficient means of both providing a competitive advantage in a global marketplace and exceeding customer expectations through superior quality.”
