KVH Names New Vice Presidents to Oversee Satellite and Defense Product Manufacturing

New Positions Strengthen Overall Operations at KVH's Rhode Island and Illinois Facilities

MIDDLETOWN, R.I.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 24, 2004-- KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) has named two new vice presidents to oversee its mobile satellite communications and defense product operations. Jeff Brunner, formerly KVH's Director of Operations for Fiber Optic Products, has been promoted to Vice President of Operations, Military and Fiber Optic Products, and will oversee KVH's consolidated defense product manufacturing at the company's Tinley Park, Illinois, facility. KVH has also named Jeff Greer to the position of Vice President of Operations, Satellite Products. Mr. Greer will be responsible for manufacturing and operations at the company's two facilities in Middletown, Rhode Island.

"Jeff Brunner and Jeff Greer each bring a broad variety of experience to KVH and are valuable additions to our management team," said Martin Kits van Heyningen, KVH's president and chief executive officer. "Together they will help provide the focus necessary for us to pursue the array of opportunities available in each of our principal business areas."

Mr. Brunner joined KVH Industries when KVH acquired Andrew Corporation's Fiber Optic Group in 1997. Most recently, Mr. Brunner has overseen the transition of KVH's military navigation products from its Rhode Island facilities to the company's Tinley Park location.

"Our long-term goal has been to grow the fiber optic gyroscope (FOG) business beyond single-axis sensors and toward higher-level, multi-axis systems, integration and testing," Mr. Brunner explained. "Moving the production of military products to our Tinley Park location has been a major step toward that goal and has resulted in an increased synergy between our military navigation and fiber optic product lines. Traditionally, our FOGs have been primarily for defense-related applications, so the consolidation of our defense product lines in a single facility was a natural fit. While 2003 was a year of transition, the result has been a improvement in factory utilization that left us well-positioned for anticipated growth in 2004."

From 1992 to the acquisition in 1997, Mr. Brunner served as Andrew Corporation's Operations Manager, Fiber Optics. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of fiber optic manufacturing as well as participated in the mechanical design of new products and their transfer from development into manufacturing. In 1997, he was named KVH's Director of Operations, Fiber Optics. He has a BSIE from Purdue University and an MBA from Lewis University.

Mr. Greer joins KVH with 26 years of domestic and international experience in manufacturing of performance-engineered products as well as supply chain management and quality assurance. Most recently, he served as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Alden Products Company, a Massachusetts-based manufacturer of high-voltage components for OEM devices, from 1996 to 2003, and Vice President of Manufacturing from 1995 to 1996. While with Alden, he oversaw a period of continuous growth in both sales and profits. Mr. Greer has a BA from Grove City College and a MA from Boston University.

Mr. Greer remarked, "The future for satellite products is very exciting. Use of satellite telephone, Internet, and satellite television continues to grow aboard ships, recreational vehicles, and automobiles. KVH is now in the process of expanding and refining its manufacturing operation in anticipation of future demand. We are committed to ensuring that we offer outstanding products and customer service, which are essential to our future success. I'm very pleased to be contributing to these efforts."

Mr. Brunner and Mr. Greer have assumed many of the responsibilities previously held by Mr. S. Joseph Bookataub, KVH's former chief operating officer, who resigned from the company for personal reasons in December 2003.
