TracVision A5 Mobile Satellite TV System Donation Will Help Foundation Raise $100,000 for Local Youth Programs
MIDDLETOWN, RI – January 26, 2006 – KVH Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: KVHI), the leading provider of in-motion satellite systems for cars, boats, and RVs, is using its award-winning technology to benefit Los Angeles-area youth with the donation of a TracVision® A5 automotive satellite TV system to the Lakers Youth Foundation. The system was installed on a 2006 Toyota Sequoia, which is the grand prize in a Los Angeles Lakers raffle designed to raise $100,000 to support reading and other Lakers Youth Foundation programs throughout Southern California.
“We’re delighted to be able to upgrade our grand prize vehicle with 155+ channels of live DIRECTV® programming and know that the addition of the TracVision A5 is helping us reach the $100,000 support level,” explained Jennifer Soliman, director of development for the Lakers Youth Foundation. “We’re grateful to organizations like KVH for helping make our life-enriching youth programs like Lakers Read to Achieve possible.”
The vehicle, donated by South Bay Toyota of Gardena, Calif., and customized by NEXT Motorsports of West Los Angeles, Calif., was on display during Lakers home games throughout January and will be raffled off in a courtside ceremony during the January 27, 2006, Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors game at the STAPLES Center in Los Angeles, Calif.
The TracVision A5, available at retailers nationwide since September 2003, is a low-profile satellite TV system designed specifically for passenger vehicles. The TracVision A5 uses KVH’s proprietary hybrid phased-array technology to create an antenna with a rugged, sleek design suitable for vehicles traveling on open roads across the U.S.
