OPTIMA Batteries mobile marketing tour will allow consumers to see TracVision mobile satellite TV up close
MIDDLETOWN, RI – November 1, 2007 – Have you ever seen cool, high-tech cars and accessories on TV and wondered if they’re really as much fun as they seem to be? Well they are, and a chance to find out is coming your way as OPTIMA Batteries begins a mobile marketing tour that will include stops at major automotive, marine, and consumer events across the country. OPTIMA’s two mobile marketing trailers will transport a Z06 Corvette and a 2007 Jeep Rubicon. The trailers will play host to several TV screens with live satellite TV and racing video games. TracVision® satellite TV systems from KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) will be the mobile link to satellite TV, and of course, the whole production will be powered by OPTIMA batteries.
This week, representatives from OPTIMA and KVH are joining forces at the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas, NV. Professionals in the automotive customization industry will attend the show to see what specialty products are available for their customers, and they are sure to be impressed with the OPTIMA trailers featuring TracVision. Plus, as the satellite TV systems prove their excitement inside these show-stopping trailers, representatives from KVH can attest to OPTIMA batteries’ outstanding performance. All of KVH’s demo vehicles feature OPTIMA YellowTop dual-purpose batteries, which are designed specifically for vehicles that need extra power for heavy workloads or high-end accessories.
“At OPTIMA Batteries, we make it a point to align ourselves with high-quality partners who have innovative products,” says Steve Kepler, OPTIMA’s executive director for global sales and marketing. “We’re pleased to link up with KVH Industries for our satellite TV requirements.”
The TracVision A7 is an ultra-low-profile, in-motion satellite TV system that offers its users hundreds of channels of live DIRECTV® programming, whether parked or on the move. Best of all, an integrated global positioning system (GPS) and exclusive 12V DIRECTV mobile receiver allow the system to identify when a consumer is in the designated market area (DMA) for their service plan, and automatically enables local channels. For those who prefer music over TV occasionally, the TracVision A7’s DIRECTV package also offers access to over 70 channels of music from XM Satellite Radio. To tie it all together, the system comes with an RF remote control that can change the channel from anywhere in or around the vehicle – particularly useful on the OPTIMA Batteries trailers, where there is a lot of ground to cover!
“We’re excited to participate in OPTIMA Batteries’ mobile marketing tour,” says Ian Palmer, KVH’s executive vice president of satellite sales. “OPTIMA batteries have been proven in the industry to be reliable, powerful, and in demand, just like our TracVision systems. Both products are highly visible in the custom and performance vehicle markets, and consumers have a great opportunity to experience them firsthand on these specially designed trailers.”
