MIDDLETOWN, RI – January 15, 2009 – KVH Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: KVHI) strengthened its senior management team with the recent promotions of Brian Arthur to the position of vice president, product development, and Joseph (Jay) Napoli to the position of vice president, FOG & OEM sales. These new additions to the company’s senior management are a reflection of the growing importance of KVH’s fiber optic gyro and mobile satellite communications technology to the company’s future success.
“Both Brian Arthur and Jay Napoli bring outstanding experience to their new positions as well as successful track records in the development and expansion of KVH’s product lines, revenue, and market strength,” said Martin Kits van Heyningen, KVH’s chief executive officer. “They will now play an even greater role in preparing KVH to pursue a range of exciting new opportunities in both the mobile satellite communications and the guidance and stabilization markets.”
Mr. Arthur joined KVH in August 2005 as KVH’s director of program management and has made significant contributions to the development of KVH’s latest generation mobile satellite communications systems as well as the mini-VSAT Broadband service. Prior to joining KVH, he was the chief executive officer of C360 Inc., a startup company developing 360-degree visible computer monitors for information and entertainment applications, and also served as the engineering manager for GTECH Corporation. Mr. Arthur holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering as well as a Master of Science in Engineering & Product Design from Stanford University.
Mr. Napoli came to KVH in February 1999 as the director of FOG and OEM sales. During his tenure at KVH, Mr. Napoli has been instrumental in helping guide KVH’s fiber optic gyro product line from the early product stage to the full commercialization of a versatile family of product offerings supporting defense and commercial applications worldwide. Prior to joining KVH, Mr. Napoli worked for Allegheny Teledyne, Inc., first as the managing director for Teledyne Italia and later as vice president of European business development. Mr. Napoli is a graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point.
