MIDDLETOWN, RI – In the spirit of the season, employees at KVH Industries, Inc., (Nasdaq: KVHI) raised more than $27,500 during the company’s two-week workplace campaign to support the United Way of Rhode Island. This donation, an almost 100% increase over the company’s total from 2009, was made possible by contributions from the staff at KVH’s world headquarters as well as a matching corporate donation.
“Vibrant communities, good jobs, and excellent education for kids make Rhode Island a better place for all of us personally as well as for businesses,” explained Chris Watson, KVH’s director of marketing. “That’s why we’re proud to support United Way of Rhode Island and its Community Impact Fund along with other charitable organizations throughout the year. Doing so allows us to give back to our neighborhoods and our state in a way that has a measurable, valuable benefit on the lives of families and children.”
Commenting on KVH’s efforts, Anthony Maione, president and chief executive officer of United Way of Rhode Island, remarked, “United Way of Rhode Island is making an impact on the lives of people in need. This would not be possible without the support of individuals and organizations that care about our community. We’re grateful to KVH and its employees for generously supporting United Way of Rhode Island. They demonstrate what it means to LIVE UNITED.”
