STEAM Scholarship

Apply for a $2,000 Award to Study a STEAM Subject in College

The A.H. Kits van Heyningen Technology Scholarship is awarded annually to a deserving high school senior who will be attending a 4-year undergraduate science, technology, engineering, art/design, or math (STEAM) program in the fall. To be considered for the 2x $1,000 scholarship, students must meet the requirements outlined in the application and must submit completed applications to KVH by the announced deadline. Among those eligible for the scholarship are students who live on Aquidneck Island or attend high school on Aquidneck Island as well as the children and grandchildren of all current KVH employees. While this scholarship is not solely need based, preference will be given to students who demonstrate a financial need. In addition to the two $1,000 awards, the KVH scholar will receive high preference for a paid internship at KVH in engineering, information systems, art/design, marketing, or manufacturing during the scholar’s college years.

About the Scholarship

KVH started the scholarship in 2008 in recognition of the importance that engineers play in the current and future success of the company, which is a leading source for mobile satellite antenna systems, along with defense and commercial guidance and stabilization solutions. The scholarship is named for Mr. A.H. Kits van Heyningen, KVH’s late co-founder and chief scientist.
