It doesn’t have to. KVH Managed IT is designed to extend and support your existing team, taking on the repetitive, time-consuming operational tasks so your people can focus on higher-priority work. For fleets without dedicated IT staff, KVH works alongside your team as a co‑managed partner, providing the expertise and coverage to support and augment, not replace, your operations.

KVH manages software and firmware patching remotely, scheduling updates during low-traffic windows to minimize disruption. Patch status across all vessels is tracked and reported through the Managed Services portal, ensuring full visibility into what’s been updated and what’s pending.

KVH provides Level 1 (basic troubleshooting and user support), Level 2 (advanced technical support and configuration), and Level 3 (engineering-level escalation) helpdesk coverage. Support is available for both crew onboard and shore-side management.

KVH Managed IT is designed to work natively alongside TracNet, CommBox Edge, and KVH Manager. If you’re already a KVH connectivity customer, onboarding to Managed IT is streamlined and your infrastructure and credentials are already part of our ecosystem.
